A lovely, comfortable place to stay. Has the friendly atmosphere of a family-run agriturismo rather than an impersonal luxury resort. If anyone is worried about the comments about the restaurant and the food. The 'dining room' is in what loks like it was the old kitchens and servants' hall: simple and unostentatious but no nooks for a candelit dinner 'a quattro occhi' but perfectly fine for the rest of us. I paid 25€ for a four-course 'menu fisso' dinner (drinks were extra) - very good value for money. The food was 'cucina tipica'.
Instructions on how to work the TV remote: there didn't seem to be a programe guide button as there is with Sky remotes (but maybe there was and I missed it).

We rented a suite in this beautiful hotel and the room was great. The hotel is situated in a nice location close to the village Fasano and near the sea. The view from our suite with balcony was great. Overall a very nice hotel with friendly staff and a nice atmosphere.
The hotel has a restaurant but it is not the ideal place for a "romantic" dinner. The food was ok but nothing special.

We very much enjoyed our stay at Masseria Salamina, especially the very kind and helpful staff and the large pool facilities. We can recommend the dinner in their restaurant.
We found the beds in our room on the hard side.

The beautiful Masseria has lovely views all around, with the hills behind and the Adriatic sea in the distance ahead. It looks absolutely stunning - a mini Italian castle set in an olive grove, surrounded by palms, and with a fantastic pool. We had a cool and spacious apartment with a terrace looking out over the hills. It caught the late afternoon and evening sun and was perfect for sitting out with a drink after a hectic day by the pool. (Or seeing the sights). There are lots of little seating areas dotted around the Masseria just for taking in the view, or the evening air -- and plenty of sunbeds and loungers by the pool, plus big canvas umbrellas. The staff are friendly and helpful. The toiletries, soap, shower gel and shampoo are produced from their own olive oil and are lovely - as is is the olive oil itself. The current owners have renovated it very sympathetically -- ask to see the photo album of before and after the works. It used to be called the 'Castello Contessa Cenci' - how romantic is that?
The food is fine if a little unexciting. Worth a try, though. 25 euros a head for dinner excluding drinks. (There are lots of good, reasonably priced restaurants nearby particularly in the coastal towns where they specialise in fish and shellfish. And very cheap local pizzerias.) Breakfasts are quite good but they tend to run out of the nicest fruit, the best pastries and the sliced prosciutto/salami unless you arrive reasonably early.

The owners were friendly and helpful. Our room was spacious and clean. Breakfast was adequate. During breakfast they had out the evening set meal menu for you to book (they are happy to discuss alternatives but we didn't eat here in the evenings) we ordered lunch on 2 occasions; it was excellent value for money and very tasty food. The pool was busy in the morning with lots of families with small children and dogs. It wasn't a problem for sun loungers/ shade. It did become less busy at around 12 pm till 4pm. I would recommend that you have a car if staying here in order to visit the local towns. The building is stunning and the main part has a lot of original decor/ glass.
I didn't realise that it would have as many young families staying. It didn't spoil my time here but it is not the typical type of venue we would stay (family).
